Neo-Nazi Craig Cobb in Trump photo?

This is far afield from the sort of thing I usually post, but I noticed this morning that a guy positioned behind Trump during his recent speech (where he “joked” that Democrats who didn’t applaud for him were guilty of “treason”) bears a very strong resemblance to infamous neo-Nazi Craig Cobb. You might recall that Mr. Cobb attempted to take over the town of Leith, North Dakota, to create a racist homeland (only to be arrested for terrorizing and then forced to leave town).

I suspect the resemblance, remarkable though it may be, is coincidental, not because Trump would never allow a neo-Nazi on stage (it’s actually precisely the kind of thing he would do and has done: offer up shrieking dog whistles for the racists, then deny intentionality- I could imagine him saying he didn’t know who Cobb was) but because, if it really were him, Cobb himself would be all over the news boasting about appearing with Trump.

Still, it sure looks like him.

  1. Wow, good attention to detail on a remarkable and disturbing resemblance. I started whining early in The Big Guy’s campaign about how I wished everyone had read Shirer’s Book, there are too many disturbing congruencies between the 1930 and the 2016 playbooks and attitudes. Most folks around me sort of rolled their eyes at my concerns, but we need to vote The Big Guy out just as soon as we can. You are probably right that this might not actually be Cobb, but there has been too many attitudes that have shared the same stage since Trump started for us all not to be very concerned. Oh! and the applause thing? THAT brings up echoes of the Stalinist partisans described by Solzhenitsyn who clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped and clapped to the point of exhaustion after Uncle Joe’s Speeches because often the first person to stop applauding would be singled out as being less loyal to the State. Anyway, thanks for the post. Lona.
