The High-Fiber Last Supper

My 10-year-old son sometimes shows a remarkably dry sense of humor. Tonight he was claiming matter-of-factly that celery was served at The Last Supper.

  1. At 1.3 grams of fiber per 2 stalks, and 16 calories, I suppose celery is high fiber, calorie for calorie, but OMG the Apostles would have had to eat a lot to get the recommended 30-40grams of fiber a day. They ought to have served (or been served) split peas, at 16grams per cup…higher in calories but easier to get down! (Nevertheless, I myself love celery!)
